We have arranged for Jamie (James) Troy Jr. to come out and give us a band check-up and tune-up!
All band members are encouraged to attend this valuable session.
We’ve divided up the evening in this way:
First, Jamie will individually assess and tune-up our pipe chanters and where needed, he’ll replace reeds.
As well, he will assess individual drones, instruments and recommend changes, if necessary.
Jamie will also leave us with a supply of spare chanter reeds for future use.
Second, he will listen to our band and assess the overall sound and playing.
Third, around our practice table, Jamie will review and offer suggestions and tips on pipe instrument maintenance and playing, both as individuals and as a band.
Our drummers will, of course, not be left out !!
We have asked Jamie to check drum instruments and offer 'tips' on maintenance and playing.
To prepare for the night, just bring yourselves and your instruments.
Pipers, make sure you’ve played your pipes a bit before practice.
For those who don’t know Jamie, he is both a championship piper and drummer, as well as a competition judge...this is a great opportunity !
